Response - West Of Lewisporte Overpass, NL

In April we responded to a single-vehicle accident 4kms west of Lewisporte overpass on the TCH. A transport truck went off the road and down over an embankment. Engine oil along with diesel spilled from the truck once it came to rest. We proceeded to contain the spill. Our crew pumped out the remaining diesel fuel from the truck tanks. Once the truck and trailer were removed from the site we began to dig up all contaminated ground. Samples were taken of the soil and when all contaminated ground was removed we put new ground back in its place.
